She pointed out a few examples that showed that for the time that the paintings were he was ahead of his time as far as racial equality. However he took it to another level with the woman's large buttocks on the beach. I felt it was a bit fantastical and a fetished look at african american women as an treasure.

Polly applebaum
I'll state how i feel in one sentence. She was a great conceptualist with amateur technical skills. Good concept can only take you too far until it just seems as though you are good at finding the concepts that allow for less effort. It's is kind of a pet peeve of mine to see what i call the "amateur aesthetic" but i generally don't speak out about it for there are people that like it. Just not me.Carter Burwellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05092958924286053324noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2820436685945613460.post-30404936104456782682010-11-30T05:05:00.000-08:002010-11-30T05:25:18.905-08:00check 11/30all footage is edited and composited into after effects and levels adjusted. i've added the dragon fly to it's scene and am currently in the process of adding particle elements shedding from andrew's body in his running shots. It is not fully complete and yes i am behind schedule. I don't exactly have a choice to set back and reexamine anything so i'm just going to keep working till the end. It will be done on time.Carter Burwellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05092958924286053324noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2820436685945613460.post-57127080471206966202010-11-23T06:51:00.000-08:002010-11-23T06:56:12.327-08:00Recap 11/23still a little short of the mark as the woods clearing scene isn't fully complete although it's close. I just need to add the other wolves fading into the shot and it's complete. second i have my footage shot of all the live action sequences i just have not digitized them. Other than that i'm on target. I have the woods running scene completely finished and I added a close up of the run. My calendar still isn't changing as i don't have much to catch up on and i'm really only held back from getting a camera to digitize footage with and that will be completed today.Carter Burwellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05092958924286053324noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2820436685945613460.post-18477728751324524772010-11-18T06:39:00.000-08:002010-11-18T07:01:18.426-08:00update thurs. 11/18ok so the final scene is nearly done as i had intended yet i missed my mark for the woods running scene. I had intended on having it completed with my run cycle included but i'm having trouble compositing my wolf run cycle. It won't export correctly from toon boom to use as a composite so i tried exporting as a .mov yet it has a white background. I'm going to keep working on it. other than that the scene is redrawn high quality and animated correctly ready for the run cycle with a still plant in it's place.

i hope to also add a close up of the dog running with the new woods showing as a background. i experimented with the texture of my open woods scene to try and see if it worked as well on the run scene. This will take a bit longer to sort some things out but i don't believe i must change my calendar as of yet. i will still be filming this weekend and beginning to composite the footage by tuesday and have the woods run done and final scene 95% complete.Carter Burwellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05092958924286053324noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2820436685945613460.post-18049596069631784972010-11-16T06:23:00.000-08:002010-11-16T07:35:10.505-08:00Calendarok so i've been working all weekend on my assets and feel like i have nothing to show for it cause it's taking forever to do a canine run cycle and repaint a high quality render of a landscape. i guess i can just set up a schedule to attempt to adhere to.

thursday 11/18
will have the final scene nearly complete and the wolf run cycle done
woods run scene will be completed.

Friday 11/19
Shoot scenes of running on gayoso ave. and alleyway shots.

tuesday 11/23
andrew running scenes will be composited into after effects and worked on.
Final scene should be fully completed.

Sun. 11/28
return from Mississippi from break.
Back to work that night

Tuesday 11/30
will be connecting my other shots of animation and video together with animation.
effects added to running scenes
the totem scene will be put together
woods run and final scene will be touched up fully.

Thursday 12/2
nearly completed with clean-up and touch up of the effects to transition from andrew running to a slow motion wolf run cycle
This transition should be done.

Tuesday 12/7
animation roughly completed allowing for touchups everything pulled together leaving room for dvd build and finalizing all projects.Carter Burwellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05092958924286053324noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2820436685945613460.post-71213105583285315742010-11-11T06:37:00.000-08:002010-11-11T06:41:43.243-08:00Concept render<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 267px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBMlK-fTWi8YMeOkws9o649p9oX_LKb1E6OjqZ2KEQWN_QmlPkdGDnldM2KHcoRG9mOmqzX18iBk4gMjGa4L5gRi9PXrwRlSm3obKwr0nRZjupH1RzB6bhR_krYLPJunc2ahpHtIMhi_hn/s400/wolf_concept1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5538302315188517090" />

Ok so i drew up all the assets for two shots of my animation. I figure i'll go for a desaturated look to emphasize light as in most film noir movies. If there is color it will be one color and because of the black and white, will contrast more. I think the smoke works pretty well for now with just the brush tool and turbulent displace. I have another render of particle fog but for this stylized scene i feel soft brushes will work better. I must take the wolf into toon boom or flash and loop a cycle of him for this scene as well. the hand drawn look will be nice with this and will provide a nice style to be flexible with as well.

Carter Burwellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05092958924286053324noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2820436685945613460.post-55597756849635549722010-11-09T06:47:00.000-08:002010-11-09T07:00:17.588-08:00Storyboard<img style="display:block; I have a story in mind that is fairly short so that i may focus more on minute details and aesthetics. I plan on the story involving a man walking along a dark street (this is filmed) as he turns to see a large totem of a wolf (which will be drawn and composited.) He turns and runs with a shot following him on a frontal shot as he runs down the street. Side shots of him passing go by as his shadow is shown to be some sort of creature (also animated). As he runs his figure begins adjusting gradually into wolf-like features starting with his ears. Suddenly it's a wolf-creature running down the street and the scenery transitions fully into animated woods. Moonlight shines through the trees and beams of light sweep by as the wolf jumps across terrain, over logs dodging bats and night creatures that swoop down on him. After a tiring sprint he finally reaches a jutting rock that has a expansive view of the moon above a foggy terrain. The wolf collects himself for a minute until finally howling. Thousands eyes appear below him and shapes of other wolves fade in from the background. the camera shoots in as the center wolf spins to stare at the camera. black.

I had this video before but i enjoyed the lighting that he used so i'll show it again.

Carter Burwellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05092958924286053324noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2820436685945613460.post-87335288455618217392010-11-02T07:01:00.000-07:002010-11-02T08:32:45.748-07:00Final animation throwupSo the few ideas i have so far are to either continue the microbial animation to create an even longer and fuller story complete with my original idea of more realized mosquitoes flying in and stabbing people in the eyes, or complete the other half of the poem for the kinetic type piece. or possibly both if possible.

Second i have been thinking about ideas for my bfa and i could use this assignment to do intro animations for various news media organizations that i have made-up. Along with advertising to show as breaks between news reel footage and the animation underneath the news anchors.

Carter Burwellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05092958924286053324noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2820436685945613460.post-45726064666192457492010-11-02T06:30:00.000-07:002010-11-02T06:42:39.374-07:00Effects explainedOk i did four different examples some quick and some more extensive.

The first one i did in class was a combination of layers and overlays with hue/saturation effect along with a fractal map layer that i prerendered and used as a trackmatte for footage of ink flowing behind a compisition of bill o'reilly that i had warped with a liquidator and applied the vegas effect to. The vegas effect i had specifically tinkered with and inverted the settings so that only the layered showed through the glowing edges of the effect.

2. One solid layer with six different effects gave me a flowing microbial texture. Took aaaaa lot of tinkering so i'm not sure if i can show exactly how i got it but i still have the project file. I used a fractal noise layer along with tritone to get started on a cellular look. It took doubling the fractal noise and color embossing to truly add a microscopic feel. next i needed to pull out a majority of the harshness with median and add proper coloring with colorama. All these effects add up the the Microbe image i have showing.

3. More extensive usage of particle playground. It took 2 hours to prerender a comp that i set the particle opacity of polygons to 1% and birth rate to 2000. the high particle usage creates more depth the the smoke i wanted but it takes forever to render. I then added two layers of turbulent displacement. and duplicated the layer three times and added colorama to them all with a variety of settings to add depth. after that i prerendered what i could which only added up to about 7 seconds into another comp that i layered a colomns on top of one another and changed the time of each to have them move in succession. i then used cc sphere with the same particle layer i had rendered with a texture layer of the background to create a nice crystal ball.

4. the last one was something i threw together for fun. I had a hall fire layer from action essentials and constructed a hall real quick in 3d with a light that followed the fire up the screen. Afterwards i added my renditions of joe's text character and used a separate fire composite to light his little hair on fire.Carter Burwellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05092958924286053324noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2820436685945613460.post-62089980921844275052010-10-28T06:16:00.000-07:002010-10-28T12:15:44.201-07:00Kinetic Reposti added another few verses and tweaked the whirlpool action to be a circular pattern rippling out. These little changes took a lot longer than expected but it's cool i'll keep working on it, i have a good start on nice addition to a demo-reel. I plan on continuing the veins part once i draw an ornate pattern in illustrator it's just going to take a whiiile and i ran out of time. There's a lot more text to go but i'm only going to do half because i know the project will be due soon and i can't let myself just throw out the last bit in a short time and it be crap. i have to live up to a quality so i plan on keeping up the standard i've already set and finish half. this will leave me more to accomplish outside of this class as well.

Carter Burwellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05092958924286053324noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2820436685945613460.post-15429660566154702912010-10-21T01:10:00.000-07:002010-10-26T04:33:15.869-07:00kinetic type projectfor the type project i want to dabble into a motion graphics essential of kinetic typography. i've never done it but i figure i need the practice for commercial work. After using the lightbox to take organic images of dough at various densities i built all my characters around it as a background. I feel a pretty solid aesthetic is being established. I left all my assets in one photoshop file that i can just import into after effects when i'm ready. I don't believe that i am completley done with every single asset but i have the majority done and enough to complete one act. I could do an entire animation of what i have but it just wouldn't meet my standards nor the class. I really like the 3 characters i made tho and the virus is pretty much there i just need to figure out the internal parts that would work better.Carter Burwellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05092958924286053324noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2820436685945613460.post-87258719633118790572010-09-28T03:43:00.000-07:002010-09-28T06:55:32.311-07:00StoryA. The theme of my piece is to show the molecular level of ideas spread through our mind as a virus infecting our eye. It starts out with a landscape of a cell zooming out to see it is a nerve cell being attacked by viral organisms. The organisms stab through the outer wall killing smaller cells within the structure. Pieces of structure pour out of the end of the virus into the cell and assemble into smaller sharper edged beings. They attack other cells making them create more of themselves as the original cell explodes. zooming out we see the mitochondria powering the cell except the invaders have attached themselves to it and are using it to power an electrical barrier. we keep zooming out to see the rest of the cell completely taken by the organisms only to zoom out further and further seeing the tattered landscape forming into an pupil than an iris.

B. Characters - Virus 1- Giant virus initially invading (acts as mother ships)
Virus 2- smaller parts that move about the interior of the cell.
Civilian Cells (Cells that act sort of human like with a few interacting and talking or caressing)

Outline:

1st scene. Pretty simple just starts showing medium angle then distant shot of overall attack

Second scene back to medium angle as they get gouged and matter is poured into the cavity.

3rd is where matter assembles and attacks another cell.

4th is the mitochondria being made into a foreign power center.

5th scene is the outward zoom away from the cell to show the eye in the end.

Storyboarrrd:

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 163px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjChiT1Mj1IMTWUQcvTi8ql1vgCVpSVvYdwWjRnub9jhUhlY1Gj7nw1YBU2eEXHwIxqedkq7R0q67IiselQt5jxK7uv7saPbr_BzG7x9rzkpnmMKnHU8Kgt33MA0mwU3kCdPCSsCIf1xf3N/s400/burwell001.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5521959980073555362" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 163px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsRxwb3QF_AZQI1QRPJ8MSllgnOnlJ1vjTcx-zE-tMmHWtX8K6zU8yir_ehBnTrZTVQGMUltLZUFbn1bzlLQYUmycdur6MShT8k8IrvqJrYGN5Ot4P6-KEum1b69T_FhQVxUT_AvYvEr5E/s400/burwell002.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5521960110034466274" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 163px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzhGXfThA3Lo4OKT0yUk60yoP4-GYpBx_b_wssOfdA-ZHTcVCMF3kKRV7jutzpb8f46D3B8AzzJ82K6Zp3TUkNF8dxRNi2NIktB1OJM5m-E_RReZbYiVL-OijCdNAx_bzVqTgiRbJ423mC/s400/burwell003.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5521960201907741026" />
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 163px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_3np9UB4YfIICKWYNq6-oWvs_0al7zhlhBUQoyhLHTYIZHnDZvlK9BdstiPfwxzZV4CwKxV7AM4u9fjxDTg3kGeh3ULEtddC9ydIZOeEPTC9JYkbWrbJN6CTFeOKZ2pp_dtS_esz3u7o_/s400/burwell004.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5521960393055435650" />

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjr_cP6OCMoxwRzGwrhvDwLC1-DoxdGgojG3j6d7txuSwoiqO6lUfdZo2IvB_uHMX9_IWwYloeXrw4ed0sjiibEvAuT0OCWNO_xdIggRrJe66vrD4s_d_06susBpgJy_YC5M36T4tQDJMuN/s400/burwell005.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5521961439463925234" />Carter Burwellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05092958924286053324noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2820436685945613460.post-78796531868814263552010-09-23T06:07:00.000-07:002010-09-23T07:23:49.473-07:00Proj5 Revise and ProposalA. I took the advice of using the shape of the house more in the piece and added it over the popcorn shaker instead of the brain. I added another Mask of red liquid flowing over the whole piece to show a negative feeling of doom. The original doctor shooting a laser with the cat face was moved earlier to not be in the way of the popcorn movement. i also added an unmasking of the word "eat" as if it was drawn on the screen quickly. I thought the word on itself would play a double meaning to obviously eat the popcorn but also a greater purpose of being forced to consume what you are seeing.

B. Proposal - Since i've been dealing with consumerism and advertising I feel like i will take the first project i did with the mosquito and continue on with that image to further delve into our minds on a visual scale. The mosquito gouging the eye is step one. After infiltration the advertising is injected into our eye and overtakes the organic matter that is there. I wanted to take inspiration from the way a virus invades a cell to show an organic landscape with mechanical beings "rewriting" the cells to create more bioengineered cells that will spread the goal of the advertisement. From there the battle pushes forward to the mind as Machines of war go on a full assault of the senses. Blimps fly and rockets are fired at onto a small city where the people fall one by one as the destruction only causes them to rise again, only under the control of another entity. Mindless zombies attacking the rest of the city until not one self motivated individual remains.

McManson's from wreckandsalvage on Vimeo.

Aesthetic Inspiration

Kadavre Exquis-Vassili from Kadavre Exquis on Vimeo.

Hermanos Inglesos feat. I now have more solid information to back up previously held ideas on the use of advertising to use culture as a way in which to control consumers. We use culture as a way to define ourselves as a society, by creating this culture using products from a certain company then it becomes stitched into the fabric of our minds. To help illustrate this I also checked out a book on the structure of the retina to use many of the organic forms as a battleground of information from various media sources.

Below is a list of hard copy books that i have checked out and am resourcing for information:

The structure of the Retina, Ramon Y Cajal
Man Culture and Society, Shapiro
Robots are Among us, Strehl
Evolution and Culture, Sahlins and Service
The Science Century, Magnus Pyke
The Essential Foucalt, Paul Rabinow
Magic Science and Religion, Malinowski
Objects of Desire, Adrian Forty

My play with masking was somewhat amateurish i know but i liked messing with old advertising and imagery that will grab attention. I have in my head an image of mechanisms across an organic landscape trapping or ensnaring various organic forms symbolizing the entrapment of our own gaze.Carter Burwellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05092958924286053324noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2820436685945613460.post-24672109360929968472010-09-16T07:11:00.001-07:002010-09-16T07:11:47.024-07:00opp and alikealike:
dust, ash, cinders, powder, snow, sift, spray, float, fire, flame, granules, grit, soot, soil, dust bunny, lint, sand, fiber, thread, hair, grass, beard, bristle, light, soft, scratchy, strand, lock, mane, unappreciated, unnoticed, small, looked over, forgotten, ignored, drift, reject, deaf ear, helpless, null, void

opposite:
dense, sparse, lush, barren, fertile, sterile, productive, negative, positive, unsure, secure, unstable, steady, broken, mend, destroy, restore, hurt, healthy, fragile, tough, vulnerable, protected, attack, surrender, clash, agree, discord, harmony, threatening, laid-back, hostile, peaceful, barbaric, calm, primitive, modern, ancient, young, mature, immature, wise, foolishCarter Burwellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05092958924286053324noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2820436685945613460.post-82748962465879125522010-09-16T07:10:00.000-07:002010-09-16T07:11:01.493-07:00<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 326px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHcEgqHW4gUK-xcsYvIrHTG1GguioR0fvCAt49FRShyvlsWQK6QPhuyTbOWyNd6MjEf2X1ho2PMeZS9wiupuc1BXGKLENpdrOfYs6KZ9SxwMrIS8H1HkN_bGLbhR3aV-wBeFapEsr8fP4G/s400/opp_thumbs.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5431019942031564498" />
<img style="float:right; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 245px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjq2aGmLIDT-8HjlOs7wQdr9ebausfm5_QoLYo8ePBJ-Td_VeAW65zKVIpC5gOpiu9PfUEM1r0QmmZ-HVS7aE1g8MrtUA26pQTWuVwL4qCWj6TFjJ64ua0ehNkzAtOLq2_JKPNqO1C-1NDC/s400/alike_thumbs.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5431019826399655442" />Carter Burwellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05092958924286053324noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2820436685945613460.post-80663636243458750832010-09-14T01:33:00.000-07:002010-09-14T01:37:33.603-07:00PArenting ProjectJust got done with my parenting project. I didn't have any trouble with the parenting itself. I did however find it difficult to use the puppet tool effectively with it. I got it to looks somewhat dynamic, however it would seem that walk cycles are a bit easier in toon boom. I used a null object and a wiggle to create a shaky camera feel to the entire piece as well as a loopOut expression on the fire behind the building and the slide cycle of the character. i had fun tho this idea could go into a Racist animation for my bfa. Many people are creating a bad image of islamic people and not looking into them as individuals. Which is what my little 15 sec piece deals with. Obviously misguided stereotyping to the point where i'm being sarcastic.Carter Burwellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05092958924286053324noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2820436685945613460.post-1026213994946063872010-09-07T15:35:00.000-07:002010-09-07T15:47:53.219-07:00http://www.motionserved.com/Gallery/Cross-The-Line/307483

http://www.motionserved.com/Gallery/Star-of-Bethlehem/314008

http://www.motionserved.com/Gallery/The-Experiment/80939

http://www.motionserved.com/Gallery/Blue-Coldesack/171398Carter Burwellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05092958924286053324noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2820436685945613460.post-24417997762627542192010-09-07T05:32:00.000-07:002010-09-07T05:38:36.264-07:00Proj2Put two short comps together each with at least 7 layers. the first had more layers in the background and scene and on the second i redrew the main fly to consist of independent parts that i parented to one another to have him move and stick the guy in the eye. Each had a noise layer to possibly tie in an older aesthetic i want later in this semester that would also incorporate the compositing. Just need a light box and i'll start collecting materials.

I had a better idea of course once i got done that i should've composited the fly extremely large in the beginning and kept him on his own comp. Then i could have an independently moving character that could be looped to actually be flying instead of gliding. Not only this but he'd be extremely hi res after reducing his size. Both positives. Yayy knowledge!Carter Burwellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05092958924286053324noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2820436685945613460.post-82593136104467626032010-09-02T03:29:00.000-07:002010-09-07T15:00:33.299-07:00Relax and let it outI've been mulling over idea after idea for this project. i know that i want to incorporate live video once i'm done after i'm done with the video an incorporate it into my BFA for I was already dealing with consumer culture and the idea of fantasy to unveil a greater truth. It's in the power of fiction to tell a story that although it isn't "real". The symbols and the meaning within the piece instill a feeling within the viewer that relates on a deeper level of understanding. This is the same thing as serious play to me. the creativity of making light of serious issues by showing it through a magical reality can inspire from within because of it is easier to trust. It isn't pushed in our faces and at the same time, removes us from social stigma. This being said I have finally come to a fairly solid basis for my animation. It will gradually, piece by piece, work to a complete story.

This "complete story" is what i shall pitch with a teaser. And for the first assignment i will animate the intro sequence. Or at least put a full effort into it. I included a video of the credits for Sherlock Holmes for the usage of compositing real footage of ink splattering as a mask to drawn images and text. This antiqued style and mystical quality is an aesthetic i wish to push as well. The Image at the end is not my own yet this same ink compositing can be layered and directed to create a moving haze for the animation. There are many techniques i wish to experiment with and that is what i wish to accomplish with the projects in this class.

Main character reveals:

The time is now, for that is always the truth of the matter. Time is and will always be the present to you. Perhaps you wish to understand in your own terms from when my message comes. All I can to tell you is that it is nearly 5 Baktun since the last rebirth. The prophet Joseph opened the eyes of many long ago and by now that same message of awakening has been twisted for the gains of those who would seek to control us. PRESENTLY we are taught about the past, of how organized crime died, and the world was saved from evil nations attempting to control us. The truth is that evil is never fully destroyed. As evil needs us to manipulate for power we need it for the strength found in the struggle to survive. This is the cycle, the cosmic hamster wheel that powers our existence. Each time evil evolves into smarter practices: now organizing under the guise of corporations and shrouding itself with protection from the state. Forces of manipulation feed off innocent victims while they blindly go about their lives pretending not to notice. There is a whole world hidden from view only because the mass majority is too afraid to look up for once and see the highly evolved organism sucking them dry, replacing the energy taken with false information designed to keep its victim complacent. The problem is that certain forces have been in power too long, and the next cycle is coming. All the world is waiting on a spark. This is my purpose.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 308px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJ4iAnew4cmE6XBKbvMInBiL8c_vJdheaW-jI6cnIq3rgcBBff6eifqG7aE0dXBFRFyAfUN2SSjlzDhPumggIi3Ifh2oUDgSw_qOWMoNCkHyHcpwg-2q8SH0O37oGTE2aLu9ZS-seQtzGe/s400/tumblr_l6f4fm1r5a1qbj9lto1_500-1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5512273590660348194" />Carter Burwellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05092958924286053324noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2820436685945613460.post-88475341328493542412010-08-31T02:12:00.000-07:002010-08-31T02:50:47.374-07:00Social play and more feedbackD.

Ok so this weekend my roommate Katy had a bake-sale at the south Main trolley night. Of course she did all the work making cake vaginas, and peni (that's my plural of penis) and also chocolates of the two with cream filling. Which is awesome selling genitals on the street corner to begin with. The game, was to get others to come check it out. She manned the booth and Q and I walked a bit further up and would see if we could break the ice with groups of people by mentioning that we "just got some pussy at the corner" The trick was to see if being extremely "immature" would open up people to relax. Most would just ignore us except for when we were next to the table. Some people would almost look interested and would completely loosen up once we told them "this corner sells it for cheap." It was fun. I find it a lot easier telling a group of people that "you should really try the dark chocolate cock, the cream filling is to die for." than going up to just start conversation with a singled out person. Is it that i feel like i'd be cornering someone by approaching them directly? possibly.. i don't like to be cornered so i figure others wouldn't either. It's fun to just be more indirect then more direct once everyone is comfortable. What interested me was learning grace even when dealing with play. there seems to be certain ways to play and rules. I could play with everyone but what's the line that can be crossed where we become seen as crazy? And is that a bad thing? A person's personal space in our country is much larger than others so i know culture plays a major role in how open we are to strangers. But is that a good thing? If we were more open to play with one another would less crime be committed? These are all interesting questions that seem to point out possible improvements in life.

E. Full feedback

Ok i've always known i've had a sick sense of humor but that's just it. i know i'm joking. i know what's fake and what's real. This along with my topics of Consumerism and Advertising has led me to think more in depth about advertising that directly targets that sense of play in kids and possibly gives immoral ideas towards being who we are. Advertising should never be a reason to control culture. especially if it creates a false image of life. Who is a major culprit of this? Well it might just be an opinion but i'd have to say Disney. Look at who they promote as role models and why. Is Hannah Montana a major figure in the media because she is a thoughtful and considerate person? No. It's because she is appealing to young audience and can push a product. I used to watch the Lil Rascal's a lot when i went to my grandma's and i loved it. They were genuine and just did what kids do, get into trouble out of curiosity. There wasn't product placement, and the director only chose his rascals because they weren't famous already, they were real. Shirley Temple even tried being one but she was refused the part. There are still those who push entertainment for a greater purpose than just money, but they generally aren't the ones who get seen the most. It's up to consumers to decide what we consume, for what we use, makes the most money and therefore gets more powerful.Carter Burwellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05092958924286053324noreply@blogger.com0
